Healthy Weight Calculator
Find a healthy weight range for your height, based on the widely used BMI 18.5–25 guideline.
About Healthy Weight
A "healthy weight" is generally defined as a weight that corresponds to a Body Mass Index (BMI) between 18.5 and 25. This range is associated with a lower risk of weight-related health conditions such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and certain cancers.
How it's calculated
For a given height in meters, the healthy weight range is:
- Lower bound: 18.5 × height²
- Upper bound: 25.0 × height²
The overweight range (BMI 25–30) and obesity threshold (BMI > 30) are also shown for reference.
Limitations
BMI-based weight ranges do not account for body composition (muscle vs. fat), age, sex, or ethnicity. Athletes with high muscle mass may fall outside the "healthy" range despite being healthy. For a more complete picture, consider combining this with body fat percentage or lean body mass estimates.
